Staff changes

Jun 26 2017

We are sad to announce that after many years at Brooklyn Central Health as Nurse and Practice Manager Cathy Mitchell is leaving the practice. Her last day with us is July 20.  We wish Cathy all the very best with her future adventures!

Kate Lamport has taken over her role as Practice Manager and will maintain her current role as part time Practice Nurse.

We are pleased to welcome Jayne Mason to our Practice Nurse team.

Due to a change in circumstances Dr Vanessa Souter has now finished at the practice. We are currently in the process of filling her vacancy.

Flu vaccine

Mar 13 2017
This year's flu vaccine is now available.  Please contact us on 8018188 to make an appointment to have this done.  If you are  65 or over  or have an approved medical condition there is no charge for the vaccination.

Dr Pam Olver's leave

Feb 14 2017
Dr Pam Olver is currently on sabbatical leave until March 2018.  We are pleased that Dr Vanessa Souter, who was a GP registrar in the practice in 2015, is available to see her patients.  Patients may also see Dr Colin Thomas or Dr Nisha Chalam if they wish.

Prescription fees

Feb 14 2017
From 7 February 2017, there is an increase in charges for repeat prescriptions.  The charge is now $18.00 and the fee for faxing or posting prescriptions has increased to $6.00.  For those patients who qualify for  long term funding subsidies for their three monthly visits, this means it will be cheaper to have a doctor or nurse consultation when your prescription renewal is due. For children under 13 repeat prescriptions remain free of charge although the fax/postage fee applies if they are faxed to a pharmacy or posted out.

Patient Experience Survey

Oct 31 2016

From November the practice will be participating in a national survey to find out what patient's experience of healthcare is like and how your overall care is managed.

Taking part is voluntary.  Survey invitations will be emailed or texted to patients through a national system that has been funded by the Ministry of Health.  Patients will receive a website link and be asked to complete the survey within 3 weeks.

Those patients who take part will be anonymous and their privacy protected throughout.  The practice shares contact details, including email address and mobile number so that they may receive an invitation to complete the survey on line.

By taking part in the survey patients will be helping to improve care and access to health services in local communities across New Zealand
